The social media environment surrounding adolescents has changed the texture of their daily life. For many teens, social participation is now tied to a constant state of unrelenting visibility: Messages must be answered, stories watched and posts interpreted; silence itself becomes legible. The result is an environment in which attention is fragmented, self-worth is lost, and emotional (dis)regulation increasingly tethered to screens. Touch The Grass begins from a simple observation: That many young people do not experience social media merely as a tool, but as a framework of unrelenting toxic pressure. Feeling the pull of phantom vibrations, they monitor each other through availability, silence, reaction timing, and posting behavior. They work to curate the presentation of their lives while privately fearing irrelevance. This audience's gap between external performance and inner experience - as directly fueled by the addictive use of social media - is one of the central emotional challenges of our times. We aim to make this issue more visible - and to hopefully persuade more positive behavior to bring greater peace to this generation.
